We’ve got something to celebrate Girlfriends – we’re kicking butt & taking names in leading companies, families and advancement for women.
Girlfriendology girlfriend Daisy shared this great news with us via an insightful post by Mamiverse. (Thanks Daisy & Mamiverse for sharing and Educational All Leadership for this great info!) It shares how women are advancing in so many areas – of leadership, business, education, etc.
There’s a lot to celebrate in the graphic below:

What would happen if women all supported each other?
October 17, 2011 – 10:52 pm
What would happen if … all women looked for the good in other women? … every woman felt enabled to go after her dreams because she had too many women to count, counting on her doing so? … we all felt as strong as an army of amazing females?
It’s a pretty fabulous idea … women supporting women. Not talking behind their backs or secretly hoping they’d fail so we’d somehow feel bigger or better ourselves. Women encouraging each other, inspiring other women, teaching and sharing, then celebrating our Read More »

#WildUnderwearWed | Because Your Job Doesn’t Define You, Your Underwear Does (:
October 12, 2011 – 9:48 am
What ‘defines’ you more your job or your underwear?
Just in normal ‘girlfriend conversation,’ I asked a friend, who had just started a new job, what she was wearing that day. She replied something about a boring suit and boring shoes – obviously destined to have a boring day, right?
I remembered back to when I had a job that I didn’t love and that there were days where the only joy I could find was in wearing colorful, wild underwear beneath my suits/outfits that no one knew was there but me. It gave me a strange feeling of empowerment and reminded me that I had a personality – that wasn’t limited to managing a team, leading/attending meetings and putting in 40+ hours a week in an environment that did not inspire or define me. Sometimes it made me smile on days when I was not a Read More »

September is a special month around Girlfriendology – it’s International Women’s Friendship Month (aka: #FriendshipMonth) and we’re celebrating with 30 great guest blogs filled with fabulous girlfriend advice and wisdom.
Kathlene Mullens shares great tips on keeping traveling with your friends fun for everyone.
Having trotted the globe with my best friend, I have a few bits of advice to share that have helped us over some rough spots as well as to avoid future bumps in the road (or the air, whichever the case may be).
1. Decide what does and does not work for you before you firm up plans. Some of my friends are okay with sharing a room (or even a bed) for the sake of economy—some are not. Some of us rock stand-by and pray for those Read More »

Great Girlfriend Advice: Learn to Say NO, from #BlogTalkRadio Guest Molly Cantrell-Kraig
August 10, 2011 – 9:25 pm
Girlfriend – Do you need to learn to say NO? So many of us do.
Thankfully we’ve got some great girlfriend advice from our BlogTalkRadio guest for this week (Friday, August 12th, 2-2:30pm ET). Meet MOLLY CANTELL-KRAIG. Molly isn’t a girl to say NO when it comes to helping other women but she recognizes that we, as women, need to say NO sometimes. Here’s her wise girlfriend advice (and listen in on Friday for more women’s wisdom from Molly!)
Learn to say ‘no.’ It will be of more use to you than to be able to read Latin.-Charles H. Spurgeon
Take a quick inventory of the time you spend each week doing something for someone else. While you’re at it, think also of the choices you make that are not in line with your values or your goals. How much of your time is spent pursuing Read More »

A Royal Trip | Girlfriends Go to The Royal Wedding
July 27, 2011 – 6:11 am
Did you watch the royal wedding this spring? Many of us watched the celebration or read about the festivities.
Girlfriend Caroline Cheshire tells us about the fabulous adventure she and her friends had traveling to London for the Wedding of the Century!
On the 16th of November 2010, it seemed the most natural thing in the world to email my wonderful book club with six simple words “Want to go to a wedding?” I didn’t know what to expect, but four replies came back with “YES!” There were four other women who (like me) wanted to see Katherine and William get hitched in London the following Spring.
I love my book club because it is such a varied group of friends. Friends who have different aged children than my own. An interesting group of women – from full time moms, to teachers, to consultants, to nurses, to accountants. Women who I really look forward to seeing once a month.

Girlfriend Advice: Positive Body Image | Love Yourself Girlfriend!
June 30, 2011 – 12:38 pm
Your girlfriends love you just the way you are – do you? Girlfriend advice on a positive body image.
I love my friends – just the way they are. And I trust and love that they accept me as I am.
The challenge for so many of us women, is that we don’t see us through the eyes of our friends. We don’t see the smile lines as a reminder of all the fun times we’ve had together, or the size/style of our clothes as just an expression of who we’ve become.
We’re thrilled to explore this important topic with an expert on something that is so hard for us – positive body image. XINA SY shared her great girlfriend advice in our BlogTalkRadio/Girlfriendology interview. LISTEN IN! (and tell a friend who might need to hear Xina share her wisdom on Read More »
