Women, Wine & TIME for a Change | Leap Day, Time Change, Wine Time
March 5, 2012 – 11:24 pm
For a great TIME … Combine Women and Wine!
Mix women and wine and you’ve got a wonderful time – right? Well, that was definitely true last week when I was in Napa for the First Annual Gathering of the Wine Sisterhood with great women from the worlds of wine and social media. (Thanks Wine Sisterhood for this great event! This is a photo of my beautiful girlfriends Danielle and Aliza, as well my full review of the Wine Sisterhood ‘custom blend of women and wine!‘)
LISTEN to our BlogTalkRadio interview with Mary Ann of the Wine Sisterhood – great inspiration for sharing wine and/or travel with a girlfriend!
(And while we’re talking women and wine, here’s a great guest blog post that the Wine Sisterhood wrote for us – on pairing wine with Read More »

First Annual Gathering of the Wine Sisterhood | Women, Wine & Napa
March 4, 2012 – 2:34 pm
A wonderful ‘custom blend of women and wine’ took place last week on the ‘First Annual Wine Sisterhood Gathering.’ Thanks Wine Sisterhood for a great wine and women event!
The WINE SISTERHOOD is a wonderful group of women (and a few select Wine Misterhoods!) who create wonderful wines for women and created an online community where women can join the conversation about wine. (Join their over 100,000 Wine Sisterhood community on Facebook!) We’ve worked with them in the past since so many of us girlfriends enjoy a glass of wine with a friend – conversations just happen, and that’s a good thing!
Shown here are MARY ANN VANGRIN, TERRY WHEATLEY and NATALIE WASSUM (Co-founders of the Wine Sisterhood). LISTEN to our BlogTalkRadio interview with Mary Ann for more info into this great group of women and the fabulous Wine Sisterhood Gathering we shared in Napa last week! (For more info on their wines, check out the video below. And, check out this ‘pairing of books and wine‘ that Mary Ann share – great for your Book Club or just your favorite genre.)

Women’s History Month – ‘Well-behaved Women Seldom Make History’
March 1, 2012 – 3:40 pm
Happy Women’s History Month! Who inspires you? Who are your ‘She-roes?’
We talk about ‘Girlfriend Gratitude‘ quite often – appreciating the women in our lives who make everything more fun, who help us go after our dreams, and who take care of our mind, body and spirit. Yes, we love to show and inspire ‘Girlfriend Gratitude’ as often as we can – it’s part of the fabric of friendship!
In the month of March we also stop to be grateful for the women who have gone before us. For the amazing females who faced adversity, jail, incrimination and more for just asking for equal rights – to vote, to attend schools, be admitted into public pools, to go after jobs and represent our country in politics and even wars. We stop each March to celebrate WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH. It’s a formal way of feeling ‘girlfriend gratitude’ for women who unselfishly Read More »

The Wit & Wisdom of Women over 40 | Andy Rooney
February 15, 2012 – 9:08 am
Wine isn’t the only thing that gets better with age. Andy Rooney thinks that women do. And, we may be biased, but think he may be right!
Andy passed away in 2011 (and said this: “I didn’t get old on purpose, it just happened. If you’re lucky, it could happen to you.”) – we’re glad he shared this insight into the wonderful women of forty-plus!
As I grow in age, I value women who are over forty most of all. Here are just a few reasons why: A woman over forty will never wake you in the middle of the night to ask, “What are you thinking?” She doesn’t care what you think.
If a woman over forty doesn’t want to watch the game, she doesn’t Read More »

Thankful for my Friends | Keeping the Attitude of Gratitude
November 24, 2011 – 11:19 am
“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more.”
Oprah Winfrey
I get asked a lot why I started Girlfriendology. I think most women find the topic of female friendship such a given or, on the other end of the spectrum, most men have never considered the relationships between women to be of any interest. And sometimes, women and men, just get it. Whatever response, I don’t mind.
I tell them how in 2005, two of my good girlfriends were dealing with cancer. How I struggled for how to be a good friend to them and how it made me consciously crave being around my female friends, both the ones dealing with cancer and the rest of my friends.
I tell them how I then did some research on the relationship of female friendship and found proof that girlfriends make us Read More »

As much as we’re in denial, the hectic holidays are coming and we need some great girlfriend advice to celebrate the season with low stress and lots of meaningful memories.
Ornaments and decorations secretly filled the shelves lately at our favorite stores. Holiday commercials have started playing and we’re already being warned of the imposing additional weight that holiday parties is going to cost us.
What we really need to prep for this season of long To Do lists, countless gifts to purchase and wrap, and jam-packed schedules, is some good old Girlfriend Advice on how to support our friends during the holidays. Thanks guest blogger SELINA MURRAY for sharing:
