How are YOU and YOUR FRIENDS Girlfriend?
It’s not easy. Female Friendship. It takes time. Sometimes patience, forgiveness, missing a TV show to spend time talking with her or indulging in some wine, french fries or cookies together. (Thankfully, girlfriends will indulge in calories and spend some time for the sake of friendship – right?!)
We want YOUR input on the State of Female Friendship in 2012. We want to know your girlfriend story – who are your friends? How do you spend time together?

Do you have a nickname? A special name that you were given by a friend?
In college, my girlfriend Shelley started us all out making our names silly (there’s a long story about Jimmy Hong and a toy drum, but we won’t go into that!). My roommate Barb was addressed as Barbalouba and Shelley called me Debbalouba – our formal names were when the ‘Hong’ was added as our last names. Barb wrangled out of the nickname but, for me, it stuck. Soon I was ‘Debba’ all over campus and that name stuck.
Another college friend, Dana, loved to say my name – and I loved to hear it from her. When she called me, my name took on additional syllables. It was a celebration. A song. A inside joke. A verbal hug. Debbaaaaaaaah! – as only Dane could say it.

How have your Girlfriends influenced your life? How do they impact what you like, think, do?
I had the honor of attending the launch of the Sandra by Sandra Lee home collection in New York City with the Sears and Kmart teams. I’ll cover more about the trip and the cool products in an upcoming blog this week but I have to share the overall experience of meeting Sandra Lee.

Happy April (Fools) Girlfriends!
Did you play any tricks on your friends for April Fool’s Day? Funny friends are great to cheer up a day, spend time with and make us really REALLY laugh! (Best April Fool’s Day trick that I know of – a girlfriend sent her dad a ‘toupee recall letter’ – and he panicked! Was afraid they’d take his rug away!)
In addition, April is National Humor Month so we’re definitely celebrating funny friends who keep us giggling and smiling. Who are your ‘Funny Friends?’ Who can you count on to be silly with like girlfriend Joanne and her funny friends? (in the photo)
