6 Years of Girlfriendology, 6 Years of Girlfriend Support | Life is Good

What’s your girlfriend story? What things have you done because your girlfriend(s) believed in you? What dreams do your friend encourage?
Six years ago I struggled with why I ‘needed’ my girlfriends so much. Two of my dear friends, Dana and Allison, were fighting cancer and I was consciously aware of needing to be with my female friends (both of them and other wonderful women in my life). It was so strong that I created a blog to explore it. I called it ‘Girlfriendology’ and started exploring why women need each other so deeply.

Girlfriend Advice: Let’s Ask for What We Want, Let’s Simplify Things

Let’s make it easier to be happier – deal, girlfriend? or a lesson from my dog. 
Sometimes life is simple. My dog shows me this everyday. He barks at the door, that means he wants out. If I come a little too close, he rolls over to show me his belly for a little loving belly scratch. And, when he’s hungry, I’ll find him in the kitchen staring (STARING!) at his food bowl. He’s pretty obvious about what would make him happy. And I, as a loving ‘mom,’ enjoy the clear (and sometimes funny) communication.
But we humans tend to complicate things. We say things we don’t actually mean and hope our friends and family will KNOW what we MEANT. We sometimes do things that don’t really represent how we things or feel – like going for months without speaking to each other and trusting, hoping our friends know that they’re still important in our life. We ‘get busy’ and don’t respond to an email, or we concentrate on work and not on the people who make it so fun to ‘not work.’

The holidays are behind us. A new year is ahead of us. And who’s here with us – through it all? GIRLFRIENDS!
Today we’re celebrating our final day in our 12 Days of Friendship – spread over the Christmas, Hanukkah, New Years holidays. We’re unwrapping our final present – the gift of girlfriend gratitude.
My girlfriend Jill and I had this conversation recently while hanging out at the dog park. Why is it that we generally gravitate to what is wrong in our lives? Day 10 of 12 Days of Friendship | The wonderful Comfort Level Between Girlfriends

I love the Holidays, don’t you? (I hope so!) And, I love they give you ‘the excuse’ to spend time with your friends – at the Holidays and all year long!
How were your Holidays girlfriend? Did you spend time with your beloved family and friends? We hope so!
The Holidays are an amazing time to show our friends and family how much we love them, to show them through love and presents how important their role is our life is.
