Friendships last a lifetime – lesson from a lion!
It’s almost National Girlfriend’s Day (this Friday, August 1st) and I’m busy writing a list of ten ideas for celebrating it with your girlfriends. It’s a great exercise in thinking about girls and women from my life who have impacted me by trusting me with their friendship. I’ve learned so much from them and benefited by their support and friendship. Check back on the blog for more on this fun day to celebrate!
While working on that, I came across a video about friendship. This one happened between two men and a lion cub. Get the tissues out, this is a good one. And read through the ending. It really is about friendship.
Okay, so what girlfriend lessons can we learn from this? Friendships do last a lifetime. Do you have memories of a friend in elementary school who was your BFF (even if it only lasted for a grade or two)? What women influenced your style, hobbies, beliefs, likes/dislikes and all the fun aspects of what it means to be you? No longer in touch. I’m sure they’d love to hear from you!
‘Google’ them to see if you can find them. If you do, drop them a note. Recall some memories of them and ask for an update on them, their family, their lives.
And, regarding National Girlfriend’s Day, if you have any ideas on great ways to celebrate with your favorite female friends, please send me a note at debba (at) girlfriendology (dot) com! Together we can be better girlfriends just by sharing. How easy is that! (We don’t even have to go play with a lion!)
p.s. Okay, the Whitney Houston song is a little much but hopefully it still made you smile!
