Your Personal Style this Valentine’s Day | Advice from Fashion Guru Donna Gamache
Whether it’s for Valentine’s Day or Go Red for Women, wearing red can make a statement. As Girlfriend Guru Donna Gamache tells us, the key to looking great in red is to feel great by staying within your personal style.
When in doubt, wear red. ~Bill Blass
Valentine’s Day and ‘Go Red for Women’ means you wear red, right? Here are some suggestions on what to wear for your personal style. I realize not everyone has red, likes red, or looks good in red so you will see two suggestions per personal style (you can choose which one works best for you).
The Dynamic Driver style will want to wear something that says “bold” so I suggest sensational red shoes paired with a black dress. The one pop of red is perfect for this style. Don’t do red? Then choose a chunky heart necklace…something that you would see in a boutique.
The Trendy Alluring style will want to wear a red dress so that they are the center of attention wherever they go. There are many choices today in red dresses. Make sure it fits your personal shape. Don’t wear red? Then choose a heart necklace covered with crystals or diamonds (they are a girl’s best friend). It’s all about the bling for this style.
The Timeless Classic style will want to wear a red sweater set that is simple and classic in nature. Don’t wear red? Then choose a beautiful heart shaped necklace or bracelet covered with pearls. Remember, pearls are the quintessential chose in jewelry for this style. And, pearls don’t have to be white so think Tahitian or black when it comes to choosing what to wear.
The Endless Romantic style will want to wear a ruffled top in a floral print that includes red. Pair it with a simple black pant or skirt. Another option is a red ruffled sweater with a lace top underneath. Don’t do red? Then choose a red headband or a bracelet covered with red hearts.
The Spirited Sport style will want to keep it simple and choose to wear a red sweater over a tank. Don’t wear red? Then choose simple heart shaped earrings…just make they are small and in a metal color that looks good with your skin tone. If you tend to be a bold spirited sport, you may even choose a watch with a red leather band.
