Coffee Talk with a Girlfriend – Is there any better way to start the day?
The best part of waking up … is having coffee with a girlfriend!
There’s something special that happens when you take time out with a friend over coffee (or tea, or whatever your favorite beverage) and just spend time with each other catching up on life. Conversation flows like tasty creamer and friendships are caffeinated. (-: The cares of the previous day kind-of swirl away and we can both relax and enjoy the rare time we have together.
Life gets busy. Rarely do we just relax and spend time together. Coffee seems to give us that ‘excuse.’ In a coffee shop or friend’s kitchen, we allow ourselves to pour a cup and forget about our ‘to do’ list. We give ourselves permission to take time out of our busy day to spend it with a friend. And, we often share the updates, stories, cares and concerns that don’t make it onto our Facebook status update – the things in our life that we only share with a friend.
I love coffee and I love my friends, so the combination of the two is theultimate luxury for me. Time with a girlfriend over coffee is where I listen more intently, laugh genuinely and consciously feel a deep appreciation for my friend and her friendship, aka: girlfriend gratitude.
That’s why I was thrilled to participate in the International Delight ‘Coffee Talk Community.‘ (It’s an online community with other BlogFrog bloggers and a fun place to win prizes.) Everyday at 11:00am EST, there is a live chat and throughout the day there are girlfriend conversations happening about coffee, fashion, relationships, pop culture – all the things girlfriend talk about over coffee. (See below for more info on International Delight and BlogFrog.)
Do you get together with your girlfriend(s) for coffee? How often? At a coffee shop, restaurant or kitchen? What’s your favorite conversation topic for your coffee talks?
