Feeling frugal? But still need some ‘girlfriend therapy’?

Being on a budget (or trying to be!) doesn’t mean you don’t have to give up spending time with your friends. Today’s guest blog by BRANDY WATTS, of Savin’ Some, shares some great girlfriend advice for frugal and fun girlfriend get-togethers. (Also, be a better friend to a friend looking for a job or trying to save money by planning an affordable girl’s night out!)

Frugal Girlfriend Fun!!

If you like to have fun with the girls but are on a limited budget, have no fear, there are options. Everyone knows how fun and relaxing it can be to spend time with girlfriends. I don’t know what it is, but being around a group of your closest friends always makes things better.

If you have been trying to plan a “girl’s night out or in” but have been a little limited due to everyone’s budget, I have good news. There are tons of great fun ideas that you and your girlfriends can enjoy at home.

Have a Pedi Party!! Get together with the girls and tell everyone to bring some of their favorite nail polish. Set up little stations around the room, and treat each other to a pedicure. To make it even more fun, serve up some sweet snacks and fun drinks. What could be better than a party and a pedicure??

Have a Swap Shop!! Send out invites to all of your girlfriends, with instructions to clean out your closets and bring over the clothes, shoes, and accessories that they no longer use. When everyone arrives, place everything in piles (clothing, shoes, and accessories) and go shopping. Everyone will leave with something that is new to them, and the best part is that it’s free!!

Have a cooking party. Everyone, or almost everyone, cooks, so why not do it together. Make a list of recipes that everyone likes and distribute a shopping list. On the party day everyone will gather with their ingredients, and prepare the recipes together. At the end of the party, everyone leaves with meals that are ready to go, plus you will have had a blast making them.

What about a crafting party?? Do you and your girls love to craft? If so, set up a crafting party. Find one or even a couple of crafts that everyone is interested in and plan a party. Everyone can contribute $5.00 or so for the supplies, and leave with a great craft.

There are countless ideas when it comes to frugal girlfriend fun; you just have to get a little creative.
