Girlfriend Advice for Entrepreneurs | Follow your dreams Girlfriend!
Do you have entrepreneurial dreams girlfriend?
I love how women support women. I know in the entrepreneurial world, when we’re going it alone in our businesses, that we really need girlfriend advice and help.
One of the women who has helped me out with my entrepreneurial dreams is my girlfriend JUDI COGEN. Judi is super smart, funny, kind and caring. She never misses an opportunity to help me and her other girlfriends out!
Listen to our interview with Judi about being a passionate entrepreneur – it just might offer some insights in how you can reach your dreams too! And check out this guest blog Judi wrote for Girlfriendology.
Judi Cogen: Serial Entrepreneur
My girlfriend Peggy says I have entrepreneurial ADD. She’s probably right—right now I have two companies and I do subcontracting work for a third. For some people, trying to juggle all the different commitments, deadlines, and business identities (not to mention family life) would be a nightmare; for me, it’s fun and energizing.
Don’t get me wrong—it’s still a lot of work. But the variety keeps me excited—and my friends keep me sane.
One of the wonderful things about my varied life is that I keep meeting such amazing women. Women who are fun, knowledgeable, and connected—and who are will to share all that fun, knowledge, and connections.
I think it’s critical for entrepreneurs to know which friends to turn to for different situations. I don’t mean who to call when Quickbooks isn’t cooperating (although that’s important too!). What I’m talking about goes a little deeper than that.
For example, I have one friend I call when I’m stuck and don’t seem to be able to get my work done. Donna will laugh at my jokes and tolerate my nonsense, but she never lets me ‘get away’ with silly excuses. By the end of the call, I’m ready to buckle down and work.
When I’m looking for a really different perspective on a problem, I call Peg. When I’m looking for someone to commiserate I call Sue. When I need a cheerleader, I call Laura. When I’ve done something really boneheaded and need to confess my idiocy, I call Nancy (she’s known me forever and expects stuff like that from me). When I’m looking for overall support, I call Debba. And the list goes on.
And that’s why I am so fortunate—because the list goes on. I am so lucky to have all of these wonderful, supportive, dynamic, insanely fabulous women in my life. And I treasure each and every one of you.
