Girlfriends make us more creative – so why not get-together with your friends, create and have fun with your friends?!

We’ve been talking about how girlfriends make us more creative this week on Girlfriendology, as well as creatively helping each other express our dreams and strive to reach them.

Because we draw so much positive energy, creativity and inspiration from our girlfriends, why not find a ‘creative excuse’ to get together and have fun. We’ve started the list of creative girlfriend get-togethers and welcome your ideas for more! Get together with your girlfriends for some fun, creative gatherings like:

• Host a ‘Bead Soup’ Party – Buy some beads and findings (clasps, chain, earring wires, etc.) and tools, then invite your girlfriends to bring over their own supplies too. Put all the beads in bowls so everyone can share them. If there is a ‘pro’ beader among the group, ask them to teach a beading lesson. Have everyone make something for themselves and a gift for a girlfriend. To get inspired, check out the book Hip to Bead, by Katie Hacker. Both beginners and advanced beaders will get inspiration out of this book! (Note: this party can be designed around any hobby – knitting, scrapbooking, polymer clay, collage, etc. Just have fun – together with your girlfriends!)
• Gather a Gourmet Girlfriend Group - Invite a bunch of girlfriends to your home for dinner. Set the menu and provide a recipe for each girlfriend to bring (along with a beverage to share). Make the main course together so everyone can learn how to prepare it. (Inquire in advance for any dietary needs or allergies.)
• Throw a Flower-Arranging Party - Bring out the gardener/florist gene in all your girlfriends by involving them in a flower-power party. Buy some dollar store vases and floral supplies. Have all your girlfriends stop by a local farmer’s market for a bouquet then split these among the guests. Have a contest for the most creative flower arrangement. • Picture This Party - Who wouldn’t like to take better photos? Gather the girls and discuss what you’d like to learn about photography. Look through a photography book. Share tips and techniques among the group then give each team of girlfriends a disposable camera to go capture some great photos. Drop off at a one-hour processing store while you’re having lunch, then discuss the final results and give prizes (like the book on photography!).
• Girlfriend Dream Get-Together – We all have dreams but sometimes we need to really visualize them to make them happen. Learn how to make a Dream Board with your girlfriends on this recent blog on Girlfriendology. ‘How to’ info on how to have a ‘Dream Summit’ with your girlfriends!
