Lisa, Vicki, Phyllis and I used to play this game at the end of a busy day at an industry tradeshow. It was our way to touching base with each other on the highs and lows of our day. Did our meetings and classes go well, or not? Did we meet the people we wanted to meet and have the conversations that we needed to have? Who better to share those highs and lows with than girlfriends who understand our goals and dreams?
Who do you share your highs and lows with? Who do you call when you have great news? And who might need someone to share their highs and lows with?
That’s what girlfriends do. Phone a friend. Ask her about her life, her day, her highs and lows. Be a better friend, because life really is better together with your girlfriends!

They planned ‘Earth Day‘ (next Thursday) just right. It’s Spring and the tree outside my window grew leaves on Tuesday this week. In one day! Mother Nature can be quite a showoff this time of year!
Lavender blankets of phlox line my driveway – the rare month where I look Iike I actually know something about gardening. The birds are giddy over the greenness of Spring and have abundant branches in which to hide. It’s a glorious season.
How can we be a better friend to Mother Nature? Like friendship, it takes respect, awareness and commitment. And like girlfriends, it’s worth the effort.
How are you a girlfriend to Mother Nature? What’s your recycling, purchasing and participation recommendations? Do you buy ‘green’ products? Support organizations that are committed to making the world a better place for our children and their children?
