 Dear Girlfriend,
I’ve know Barb since our first year (probably first week) of college. We’ve been through moves, marriages, kids and pets. We’ve lived states apart and on opposite sides of town. And we’ve celebrated lots of milestones together – from birthdays to funerals, the arrival and graduation of children, new jobs and the joy of being ‘old’ friends.
This week marked a pretty big milestone for Girlfriendology. We posted our 1000th blog post and took a walk back down memory lane – and back through all the girlfriends that have inspired and supported us. Girlfriends like Jill who should have dang pompoms and a pleated skirt for all the cheering she has done on my behalf. Friends like Vicki who deserve cheers herself for following her dream and seeing amazing things happen. Bestselling authors who have become girlfriends, like the fabulous Kris Radish. And TV icon and craft queen, who I’m also very honored to call a friend, Carol Duvall.
So, thank you for caring and for allowing me the opportunity to be part of your life. I hope it inspires you to be the kind of friend you’d love to have. Because, we really do just have each other and that’s a wonderful thing. And for Barb and all the other girlfriends who have celebrated milestones, thanks for the memories. Thanks so much for proving that life really is better together with your girlfriends!

I love knowing the little things about my friends. What gifts she loves to receive for her birthday, her favorite restaurants, what she doesn’t like to eat (so I don’t serve her that for dinner!), her fears, her dreams and what makes her smile. Knowing the little and big things about a friend strengthens our friendship and makes for close friends.
Debba, I know it may be impossible to know you individually but I’d love to. I’d love to know what movies you watch over and over, your favorite book and what makes you giggle. That’s what girlfriends do, we get to know each other to that level and we look out for each other by providing girlfriend advice, support and helpful information.
 In an effort to get to know you a little better, and in doing so to providing more helpful information and inspiration to make your life better (the way girlfriends should do!), we’d love to get to know you with a little survey. After 1000 blogs, over 150 podcasts, more than 7000 tweets and too many words to count – we want to make sure we’re providing helpful info and we want to know how we can be a girlfriend to you and make your life better (because girlfriends do that!).
