| Dear Girlfriend,
Thursday morning: Austin, TX, I’m here for the Genesis Today social media competition. I’m sitting with one of my ‘competitors’ in a hotel conference room while the others finish their presentations and will await the decision tonight.
Yes, is it a great honor to be selected as one of the five finalist and it would be awesome to win the $10,000 prize tonight (along with some PR/awareness of me/Girlfriendology). But it’s also an honor and dang awesome to have so many girlfriends supporting me today with their well-wishes, positive vibes, tweets and Facebook messages. It’s like having my friends here with me in spirit, and that itself makes me feel like a winner.
Special thanks to my girlfriend Jill for loaning me her fab black dress (even though it meant she couldn’t take it to Sundance!). My friend Sue loaned me her lucky $2 bill (that I hid in my wallet so I didn’t accidentally buy a Starbucks with it!). My friends Judi, Carole, Michelle, Julie, Anne and so many others have tweeted and RT’d on my behalf.
Thanks for the friendship and support you offer me and your own girlfriends. Alone, it’s a scary ‘competition’ out there, but with friends cheering you on, it kinda feels like we’re all winners, ya know? Actually, I know that win or lose, I’m still a winner. I have friends that make me feel that way and that’s what really matters.
I totally believe, and am humbled by it - life really is better together with your girlfriends!

It’s such a fun learning experience, when you put a bunch of friendly females (primarily) in a room together and give them insight into something that can change their lives – plus the lives of their families and friends. And, it’s not just fun, it’s powerful when it really can make a difference in their daily life and longevity.
So, I’ve learned a lot in my few days with Dr. Lindsey Duncan, founder of Genesis Today. Dr. Lindsey is a respected expert in natural health and has been featured on basically all the major networks, in countless magazines and is sought out for his nutritional wisdom by entertainment and sports celebrities. He knows his stuff!
Yesterday we got an education in nutrition, food ingredients and digestion (a little TMI here!). We got to sample new, amazingly healthy and yummy foods that are coming. We learned about the superfruit ingredients that make these foods so beneficial to our health, well-being, happiness and longevity. (And, that ‘happy berry’ – Goji is just one way – we’ll share more on that on Girlfriendology.com.)
What did it make me think? Well, number one is that I need to get healthy. I’ve neglected my body for a long time. I eat primarily whatever my husband feeds me. (Yes, he’s the cook in the house.) And, since I am focused on my business almost at a neurotic level, I rarely get my body moving. I need to change that. I’ve learned a lot in the past two days about how to use healthy superfruits, herbs and nutrients to cleanse and heal the body. Powerful.
The second thing that came to mind was – if I really love my friends, shouldn’t I want them to be healthy and to be around for a long time too? So, in an effort to hang out with my girlfriends and live long, healthy lives, I plan to share some of what I’ve learned with you in the coming days, weeks, months – as long as the learning process continues. And, I encourage you to share what you know/learn as a way of keeping us healthy together.
So, let’s explore this together. Let’s take on the challenge of being healthy and encouraging each other to be well – together.
‘Cause I care about you, and so do your friends. Take care of yourself. Stay healthy. And, live life to the fullest.
