Cincinnati girlfriends you need to meet!

Cincinnati Blog NetworkHey – it’s our regular Saturday special Girlfriendology blog on Cincinnati. We’re thrilled to be part of the Cincinnati.com blogger network, so this ones’ for you Cincinnati!

I got to know a couple Cincinnati women this week that you need to meet!

  • Sacksteders InteriorsKAREN SACKSTEDER - This energetic, friendly entrepreneur started a home interiors store over 20 years ago in New Trenton, In. (About 35 miles outside of Cincinnati.) I had the opportunity to visit her store this week as she held a women’s networking event that she started this summer called the “Who Do You Know? Party.” It’s basically a wild, wonderful group of women (and women who know women) who gather periodically to meet more women. Check out Karen’s fabulous store in New Trenton and welcome her to Kenwood for her new ‘Sacksteder’s Interior’ shop that just opened. (Also, Karen is a breast cancer survivor and has written a book to raise money for the Pink Ribbon Girls. Love her positive energy and am so glad I know her!)
  • Stop Traffick Fashion beadsSTOP TRAFFICK FASHION – Emily Hill decided that something had to be done. So, Emily started Stop Traffick Fashion. Human Trafficking is the fastest growing form of international crime and the second largest source of income for organized crime, recently surpassing drugs. Each purchase from Stop Traffick Fashion directly helps the survivors and organizations rescuing and providing rehabilitation to survivors. Men, women, and children who have been rescued from their captors make nearly all of our accessories. Shopping at Stop Traffick Fashion provides income for these workers as they strive for a free and healthy life.  In addition to the direct impact, a minimum of 2% of all sales revenue will be donated back to our partner organizations who rescue victims and provide rehabilitation and training.

Check out these two amazing Cincinnati women’s businesses/sites. They’re inspiring!! Thanks Karen and Emily for inspiring me, and so many others!
