Cincinnati “Friend in Need” Fundraiser / Tool Sale
Buy a tool! Help a friend in need!
I love the name of his business. He called it “Sawdust Therapy.” (I’m sure guys can relate to that!) For years he installed doors, built kids’ furniture, and repaired all kinds of wooden ’stuff.’ He hired men who might need a break and helped them prosper in skills and confidence. He is a good guy.
He – is Bruce. Bruce is husband of my BFF Becky, and he has terminal cancer. (You can read their blog for more info. It’s very sad but also very inspiring.)
I’ve shared some about Becky and Bruce (like when we experienced the power of Twitter to help them previously). They found out about the prognosis back in March and things went okay for a while. Now, it’s not so okay. The reality is staring both of them in the face as hospice is now engaged.
On a very inspiring and personal note, Bruce has faith in what is happening and, aside from the pain and seeing his precious wife suffer, he feels comfortable and at peace. Becky also sees God’s hand in this journey they’ve been on but she’s incredibly sad and unsure of the future. Both know they are loved and we, their friends, are here to do anything we can do to help.
One of our mutual friends, Greg, who shares Bruce’s talent in wood-working (and who will take over “Sawdust Therapy”) is doing his part by having a TOOL SALE and FUNDRAISER in CINCINNATI this weekend. All the money will go to support Becky and Bruce. (Bruce had cancer as a child so there is no life insurance coverage to help Becky and Bruce.)
