Sharing (what Girlfriends do!): Fancast
Do you love your TV shows?
I love, as a girlfriend, knowing what shows my girlfriends are watching. (We share TV updates quite a bit on Twitter. It’s like having a girlfriend to watch TV with and make funny, sometimes snarky comments!) My girlfriend Cathy watches ‘Amazing Race,’ Anne loves ‘24,’ Terri loves ‘Mad Men‘ and Lorri is a HUGE ‘Biggest Loser‘ fan. I love knowing what they’re doing and what girlfriend to ask for a TV update.
My girlfriend Barbara turned me on to a new website that hosts bunches of shows for free. (I remember when I showed my girlfriend Jill “Hulu” and she stayed up all night watching! The only thing is, not all the shows I want to watch are on Hulu.)
I checked out FANCAST and was impressed with the line-up of shows – from Flipper to Modern Family (which I’ve heard is very funny), Mary Tyler Moore to Survivor, and even Ace of Cakes to How to look good naked. Here’s some facts on Fancast:
- FANCAST debuted in January 2008 and now has more than 10,000 hours of online video programming; with more than 60,000 videos available, including over 13,000 full-length shows (more are being added every day)
- FANCAST is not only an agnostic online video site, aggregating tv content from more than 100 sources (including Hulu by the way), but Fancast has more TV extras than any other site including: movies, pictorials, blogs, listings, live chats and Q&A’s with stars, and much more.
- Has limited commercial breaks.
Why am I telling you about a website with TV shows on a ‘friendship blog?’ Because that’s what girlfriends do! We share interesting, helpful information – or ’solutions’ for our busy lives. And, since I know we’re all juggling way too much, hopefully this can provide you with a little retreat from stress and maybe a few laughs.

I am still a devoted Grey’s Anat and Private Practice fan (and DVR challenged).
And I’ve recently become devoted to the food network.
So glad to hear about this site–will def check it out!
