Connecting and sharing life | Social media and it’s impact on friendships
I love social media. I love how it allows us to connect with others and share our lives.
I love too how it helps our friendships grow by knowing more about each other and being able to interact in our friend’s lives. Like yesterday … through Twitter I knew whom of my local friends was watching the Bengals game too. I knew my friend Carole ran into my friend Rob at church yesterday. I learned that several of my friends are fans of the wine I had for dinner. And I loved the commentary throughout the day on the games, shows and antics of my social media friends.
Sure these are all simple little details – but they’re ways we connect. We learn from these connections – even just through photos or 140 characters. We laugh and enjoy each other’s company even remotely. We even ‘go places’ together, albeit virtually, and sometimes find new friends through the connections.
Like yesterday, we had a ’special’ dinner at our house. I have low iron so have to eat a lot of it the night before I donate blood. So, we decided to take you along to Kroger and back to our home for dinner – just as our way to sharing life and learning things together from something like a shopping trip.
Thanks for joining me! I look forward to learning more about you and building friendships through social media. How do YOU connect to friends?
