Happy 4th of July girlfriend!

I hope this finds you relaxing with friends and family … maybe visiting your mountain home (Allison!) or spending time with your nieces (Anne) or hitting a neighborhood parade (Erin Marie and Kate). Life’s about the little things and the special moments with people you love. Spend some quality time with your family and friends and let work, chores and other responsibilities rest as well.

We just received the following contest entry for our July Girlfriendology Contest. Since it is inspiring and had a bit about July 4th in it, here it is to inspire you to celebrate your female friendships (and perhaps to send in your story for the monthly contest!) Cathy wrote:

I wanted to write about my best girlfriend. July 4th she and her husband always throw a great July 4th party. I was thinking about how lucky I am to have her in my life and also thinking why do I feel that she, above all the other amazing women in my life, is closest to me. I realized that I can basically share anything and everything with her, and I can be 100% me, without ever having to worry about how she will react, what she will think about me. She knows everything about me, and I know she loves me for all of my strengths AND weaknesses. It is just so great to have someone in your life that you can respect, know you can get great advice on pretty much every subject, and have a great time being with.

I would never want to live without my girlfriends, and especially not without her!

Have a safe, fun, peaceful and memorable holiday girlfriend! If you can be with your girlfriends, do. And if there are reasons why you can’t, reflect on the wonderful benefits of friendships that transcend time and distance. And remember to be thankful, no matter how close or far you are from your friends, for their love, support and friendship.
