Girlfriend advice: Is crazy normal?!
Lost control of your life? Feeling a little (or a lot?!) overwhelmed? Maybe even a little crazy?
Sometimes the only person we can share those true feelings, doubts or concerns with is a girlfriend. We need a friend who understands, doesn’t judge and can help us regain our confidence and stability.
Thankfully we have our girlfriends for that – right?
My girlfriends and I were talking about this recently – and all three of us admitted we’d felt a little ‘crazy’ at times. Not mental-illness quality (thankfully), but still, we recognized we were having unsubstantiated fears or worries. Just sharing this among friends, somehow changed ‘crazy’ into … “okay, we’re stressed. Juggling too much. Dealing with things.” This was therapeutic to have an honest conversation, an accepting friend who sees the strength in us when all we feel is self-doubt, anxiety or uncertainty. It was comforting to know we’re not alone in our fears, middle-of-the-night-worries and concern for whatever the future may hold.
Actually, with the support of our friends, we’re all stronger and more equipped to take on any possible worries or fears. Our friends give us a different perspective and remind us of what we’ve been through in the past and how we’ve made it through things – together.
Do you have doubts or fears that worry you? Spend some time with a girlfriend and share some laughs and memories. And, if it helps, share those concerns and ask for her insight. Sometimes we need to lean on each other. That’s what girlfriends do. That’s what keeps us both standing and moving forward.
Be there for your friends and they’ll reciprocate. Life is better together – with your girlfriends!

I think everyone has their own version of crazy. I know I’m crazy, and I often classify it as “good crazy”, whereas my mother in law can at time be classified as “bad crazy”.
It’s the parts of our personality that are extreme and what makes us all the complex women we are. My friends would say I’m crazy because I let my son jump from high off his play set to the ground and run around in the back yard naked. I think one of my girlfriend’s is crazy because she reads too much on webmd & is constantly sure her kids could have a terminal illness. We’re all crazy. We just have moments in between the crazy, right?
