Liv Lane, Choosing BeautyLIV LANE’s Bio:

Liv Lane is an accomplished business-woman, broadcaster and writer. She leverages her talents and background to inspire others to create their best lives.

Lane’s successful communications career has included co-hosting a national radio morning show, writing for popular web sites and computer software titles, and managing public relations for General Mills‘ largest family food brands. She has received over a dozen awards for her public relations and broadcasting work. In 2002, Lane co-founded a media subsidiary for General Mills and spent the next five years building a profitable business – Win/Win Radio, Inc. – from the ground up.

She accomplished these professional feats despite facing a major personal setback – a traumatic birth experience with her first child, which left her reeling. Eventually diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Lane spent several years working with multiple therapists and healers to overcome depression and anxiety, and to regain her sense of self. Though debilitating and difficult, her journey through PTSD inspired her to create a blogOne Year of Beauty – to focus on recognizing and celebrating everyday beauty as a means to heal and grow.

In 2007, Lane left corporate life behind to launch Choosing Beauty™, devoting herself full-time to helping others improve their own lives by concentrating on the beauty in their midst. She is a sought-after writer, speaker and advocate for women living with PTSD. Lane serves as co-host and associate producer of the popular Minneapolis radio show “Get Real” and is working on her first book, due from Fairview Press in 2010. Liv lives in Minnesota with her husband, two young sons and one crazy dog.
