Dear Girlfriend,

“3″ I do. I love my girlfriends. And, I love the wonderful women who bless my life with their friendship, laughter and even tears, support and, like the following girlfriend, amazing inspiration.

Katie Reider and her family talked in numbers. 3 meant “I love you” and 4 stood for “I love you too.” This simple numerology was their language of love.

She was just on the verge of making it BIG in the music business. Right there – with a “Dawson’s Creek” song, a growing following and a passion for sharing her soul through her singer/songwriter talent.

But sadly, Katie was stricken with a rare facial tumor that took her voice, her sight in one eye and eventually, at the young age of 30, her life. But, it couldn’t take her legacy or her music.

Do your friends know how much you love them? Have you told them lately how their friendship makes your life better? Tell them 3 and maybe they’ll tell you 4 back.

Memorial Day is a wonderful time to take a moment to reflect on the women and men who have sacrificed so much so we could live in freedom and with hope for the future.

That’s the focus, I know. But I’m still thankful for just having a holiday where we can spend time with our friends and family. When we can turn off the TV, go offline and make memories together. When we can create moments to remember.

Take some time this weekend to connect or get together with a friend. Invite her on a picnic or to go for a walk. Help her plant flowers or go hang out on her deck together.

Make friends. Make memories. Make moments – together. And have a wonderful holiday weekend!

Life really is better – together with your girlfriends.
