Happy, peaceful Mother’s Day
Happy Mother’s Day!
To all you mothers of children young and old, to the grandmothers, aunts, sisters and girlfriends who care for each other every day of the year and those pet parents who love your furry children. To the teachers and facility, doctors and nurses, counselors and advisors, leaders and care-givers who nurture your own friends and family, as well as strangers and those you’ll never even meet – know that the people whose lives you touch are grateful for your generosity and compassion. And to those women who wish to be mothers or have lost their children, my heart goes out to you and your sadness.
Any opportunity to recognize the wonderful women in our life is a great day.
The following video was created by Brave New Foundation for their Mother’s Day for Peace efforts. Watch and consider the origins of Mother’s Day, and how mothers in different neighborhoods, countries and situations live. Then pause to think of how we can make this world a better place – maybe even by next Mother’s Day. How can we teach our children how to resolve conflict in a peaceful way? How can we make our voices heard to end war and save lives? Big questions for a day of celebration. So celebrate Moms on Mother’s Day, then go out and make the world a better, more peaceful place.
Happy Mother’s Day girlfriends!
