Meeting new girlfriends @ SOBcon09
I love women who are passionate about life, their work, their families and their friends.
How can you not? When we’re passionate, we glow. We’re inspired and inspiring. We’re on a mission with everything we do.
I also love meeting these passionate, creative, innovative and, again, INSPIRING women.
I’m surrounded by these women at a conference for bloggers in business here in beautiful Chicago (SOBCon09 – great conference by Liz Strauss and Terry Starbucker). There is an amazing energy and brilliance (seriously!) flowing from these fabulous females and I just have to introduce you to a few of them:
- BARBARA JONES – Okay, first. Is she a model? But as beautiful as she is, she’s also smart and nice. Her business One2One Network connects companies with women online and she’s awesome. I’m so thrilled to have her as a friend and connection. Thrilled.
- PAULA BRUNO – Is smart, hip and techie-cool. She is one of my table-mates and works with Barbara on One2One. She “empowers women and families through financial literacy” through her company (love this name!) Chicks and Balances.
- WENDY CHOLBI – is a business consultant who helps small businesses go online with blogs and other solutions. Or, as she puts it: “organically grow.” Check her out – Your Web Coaches.
- BETH ROSEN – I think she might win “most popular” here at SOBcon. She’s all over the place and just basically ROCKS. She has a fun blog – The Mid Life Wife – check it out.
- MICHELLE LAMAR - This “Whitetrash Mom” is a respected and admired blogger, author and social media maven. She’s part of the Silicon Valley Moms and you can just watch for great things to happen to her. She’s sweet, smart and dang funny.
- STACY BRICE – This girlfriend knows how to help others find time. How? Through her Virtual Assistance biz and training school. I knew Stacy on Twitter and was excited to meet her in person. (And she definitely fits the smart, nice and passionate categories.)
- DUONG SHEAHAN – This beautiful girlfriend has submitted to Girlfriendology (“The Power of Friendship“) in the past. She’s shared her passion for beauty and girlfriendship. What a fab friend!

- GLENDA WATSON HYATT – Inspiring, funny and cute! Glenda lead a fabulous presentation on making the Internet accessible to all of us. She’s also the author of “I can do it myself” – and she is super funny when she’s giggling! Check out her presentation/book on how POUR is your blog – on accessibility.
- LISA CREE – Lisa has a cool business that I’ll be sharing with you soon!
- DEB BROWN – Who gives great hugs! Deb works in social media through her company “Deb Works.” (Kinda like Debba Works here!)
- GIOVANNA GARCIA - Beautiful and so caring, Giovanna is passionate about inspiring women – so of course we hit it off! She believes “Imperfect action is better than no action” – check out her site!
- KIM MOLDOFSKY - Freelance writer, professional blogger and social media enthusiast.
- AMY LEFORGE – She was my brainstorming girlfriend! She helps companies with their online goals as well as sells “Doorway Theaters” – check out her cool, creative, kids products. (Also, she just did a great guest post on Liz’s Successful-Bloggers site!)
- MICHELLE VANDEPAS – Offers “gentle guidance for newbies and the confused”! Isn’t that great?!
- And, of course, the BEST girlfriend of SOBcon – the beautiful, smart and inspiring LIZ STRAUSS. Seriously, she is THE social media/blogging rockstar that made it all happen (with her partner Terry). If you want to know about digital marketing, social media and the ROI of relationships, just follow Liz.
