Cool REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: Haagen-Dazs Five!

It’s the simple things in life that matter. Right?

Like girlfriends, Spring flowers, belly laughs, happy memories and thoughtful gestures/comments. Simple stuff. Like pets who love us unconditionally, walks in the woods, your favorite singer/songs and the laughter of a child. Those are some of the simple ingredients of a happy life.

When we get down to the basics we often experience pure joy and simplified happiness. Those also describe the following tasty treat (just in time for the prime season for finding joy in tasty treats!).

Häagen-Dazs is known for high quality flavors and products. It’s creamy, dreamy Heaven on a spoon! Well, now they’ve decided to simplify life and ice cream with a new line of flavors with only five real-natural ingredients in each of seven yummy flavors:

In fact, they describe it as:

“All-natural ice cream crafted with only five ingredients for incredibly pure, balanced flavor… and surprisingly less fat!”

With only five ingredients (milk, cream, eggs, sugar and the specific flavor), Häagen-Dazs has created a pure line of frozen treats that lack all the chemicals and dyes normally found in ice cream.

Mint was my favorite! It was, as they describe, refreshing, invigorating and all natural. Not over the top, in-your-face minty (like the often bright green mint chocolate chip flavors in stores), it was smooth and delicious. With out the dyes, it looked more like a vanilla (which is fine with me – now that makes me wonder how much dye I eat in much of my food!). It was tasty!

My husband and I sampled a few of the other flavors.

  • Ginger was my husband’s favorite. Again, it wasn’t the in-your-face flavor that might cause hesitation in eating it. I’m not a huge fan of ginger and found it smooth and fresh.
  • The Brown Sugar was carmel-y goodness! It had more color to it than the other flavors and was a nice change from the standard flavors of most ice creams.
  • My husband ate all the Passion Fruit without me! He said it was very tasty. He did say that he could have had a similar taste experience with a Passion Fruit sorbet (which might have less calories – nutrition information below).

I’m looking forward to the Coffee! (Okay, and the Vanilla Bean and Milk Chocolate!)

What would be your favorite flavor? Want to try this cool, simple new ice cream from Häagen-Dazs?

I’d like to try Vanilla Bean, a classic in a pure new form, a flavor I can depend on when I need comfort. Because Haagen-Daz would not let me down.

I’d love the Brown Sugar and envision taking a bite of that and then “chasing” it with a bite of Vanilla Bean. Hmmm..do I hear a new flavor in the mix? Brown Sugar Vanilla Bean?
