It’s time for my annual email from my girlfriend Terri.

Every year on St. Patrick’s Day it’s our tradition, Terri shares the same joke. It doesn’t matter that I obviously know the joke or that on some years I have to remind her to send it, it’s just a great girlfriend tradition that I love because it connects us even when we’re many states/miles apart. It’s a wonderful annual reminder of the little things in a friendship that are unique to the special women who build the bond and the great timeless treasure of girlfriendship.

Are you celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with your girlfriends today? Sharing some ‘kegs and eggs’ (that our neighborhood Irish bar is serving this morning) or green beer later in the day? Maybe it’s just sending an eCard or a green gift, commenting on her green outfit or sending her the same joke you send every St. Patty’s Day. (Hint … Terri: I’m still waiting! But I realize you’re an hour behind so I’ll be patient and not prompt you until at least lunch time!)

Find ways to celebrate girlfriends – even little things like jokes, a drink together, watching other people be silly and green, whatever is fun for you. But just spend time together, connect, laugh, enjoy each other’s company. That’s what girlfriends do!
