We all have a story.

The beginning of a friendship, an idea or adventure. The lessons learned along the way, mistakes or surprises, to the highs and lows of emotion.

Our friendships have stories too - the first time we met our friend, what common factor or person connected us, things we shared with each other, laughter, tears, hugs, conversations and accepted silence. It’s great to share these stories with one another. We find more in common than different once we look at each other as friends.

Sometimes, especially with those favorite girlfriendships, it’s a beautiful story. It is a living celebration of the strength of women – particularly as we support and encourage each other. Think about your stories. Where you met your best friends? What girlfriends you look to for great advice? Who provides creative inspiration? Consider your friends who have been there for you and that you’ve returned the favor. The types of friends you have – or want to have. And who helped you shake up your life – and those fun memories. Life is about the stories – and the beautiful people in them.  Create some great ones with your girlfriends. Call your girlfriend.  Go for a walk.  Shop together.  Send a card.  Just be a girlfriend. Specifically female friendship – it unites us as a universe of women. Women who are strong and who share our strength when others aren’t feeling their power. Think about it – we help each other, even strangers, by generously sharing ideas, information and assistance. Our compassionate nature, our social structure and our universal nurturing constantly connect and inspire us. I’m honored to be in the company of the great women of this community, and the world. We each tell a different, distinct story and we all learn from each other. Share your story with a friend, or listen when she needs to tell hers. Open up your life to women who may appear to be different and find those common factors like your stories and friendships. Then, stop by Girlfriendology and share your friendship stories.
