Dear Girlfriend, Get a bunch of girlfriends together and there has to be snacks, right? Well, tasty treats and fun females were in full force this week in Los Angeles as Frito-Lay invited ten women bloggers to a special event centered on satisfying women’s need for healthy, guilt-free treats.
Girlfriendology (aka: Debba) was invited to L.A. to tour the Frito-Lay plant and witness first-hand (and sometimes hand to mouth!) how healthy snacks like Baked Lays, SmartFood and Flat Earth snacks are made. It was a fabulous tour and presentation of the new “A Woman’s World” webisode adventures of four animated girlfriends.
Frito-Lay did a bunch of research on women and our snacking. We are actually a ’sisterhood of snackers’ – snacking twice as much as men and often we feel guilty for our food choices. So, they came up with some healthy and tasty options.
To celebrate, there was a red carpet event at a swanky L.A. club complete with hostBrooke Burke and Spice Girl Mel B. We each had some one-on-one time with the celebrities to chat. What did I talk with them about? What do you think?! Their girlfriends.
Not only was it great to meet Brooke and Mel, but it was fabulous getting to know some other women bloggers who are passionate, smart and fun. It is “a woman’s world” – on the web, blogosphere and the red carpet!

No one makes it on their own. We don’t achieve greatness (or pretty much anything!) without the efforts and support of all those by whom we’ve been influenced and loved.
Well, that was certainly true this week. As you may recall from last week’s blogs and newsletter, girlfriend Amy Scalia from CINCY CHIC stepped up and set up a make-over to prepare me for the red carpet. She graciously arranged for a BEAUTIFUL dress from THE WARDROBE, a fabu purse from DESIGNS BY PAOLO and a hair/nails/eyebrows/make-up make-over from TUSCANY SPA AND SALON. (Where we got Liz and the salon on Twitter!)

What friend needs a little pampering? Who’s day can you make with a call or card? What girlfriend needs to be cheered up or reminded of how special her friendship is to you?
Whether it’s a birthday, red carpet event or just another gray winter day, think how a little thing you can do can brighten your friend’s world. Be the friend you’d love to have. Be a girlfriend!
