My girlfriend Katie shares some Creative Holiday Gift Ideas!

Leave it to my crafty girlfriend Katie Hacker for the following creative holiday gift ideas! (Katie also did a fun podcast interview with Girlfriendology about crafting for and/or with girlfriends – listen in!) Author of dozens of creative books, Katie creative passion is beading. She beads almost everything in a very creative and fun way (not a tacky ‘bead the dog’s waterbowl’ kind of way – not that that there’s anything wrong with a beaded waterbowl!).

Here’s some sparkle for your tree! This ornament is quick and easy, you just string beads onto a memory wire bracelet. I used Czech glass beads for this version, but you can use any beads that will fit on the wire. Seed beads make it more delicate looking and wooden beads give it a folksier appearance.

Cell Phone Charm

Cell phone charms are super easy to make and they’re a fun way to customize digital accessories like phones, cameras, PDAs and iPods. Use the recipient’s birthstone colors or include an initial letter charm to make it even more personal!
