TIP TUESDAY #36 – Travel Advice for Women

Tip Tuesday

Women love to travel!

Actually, women’s travel is the fastest growing segment of the travel industry. Any, why not? We love to explore and we love to hang out with our girlfriends – so we might as well combine the two!

Looking ahead to the holidays, you might want to plan a trip to Minneapolis and the Mall of America (no sales tax on clothes in MN!), a group tour to spa in Mexico or perhaps to a ski resort for some chalet time together? Or, give your girlfriend the best gift for the holidays by planning a girl’s getaway to the beach, New York City or a cruise.

Our TIP TUESDAY QUESTION:

What is your girlfriend advice for travel for women?

To get us started I did a little research on travel tips for women from About.com. Also, listen in to the great girlfriend advice (and inspiration) from the top two women’s travel experts: BETH WHITMAN (Wanderlust and Lipstick) and MARYBETH BOND (The Gutsy Traveler).

So, now it’s YOUR TURN! Be a friend and share your girlfriend advice for women’s travel.

My advice to women travelers is to read up on your destination before hand and have a working itinerary in place before you leave…but leave room for serendipity. It’s a good idea to leave the itinerary and copy of your passport with a trusted person back home.

Another thing is not to get sucked in by the tourist traps and all-inclusive things. You can learn so much about the world and yourself by truly experiencing another culture.
