Podcast #75 – Girlfriendology interviews KATHLEEN REID, author of “A Page Out of Life”

A Page Out of Life, by Kathleen ReidMeet KATHLEEN REID, author of “A Page Out of Life.” Kathleen is a brilliant storyteller who reaches women with the intertwining stories of entertaining and touching characters. And, she introduces to her wonderful characters in this Girlfriendology podcast interview.

In fact, here’s a little overview:

When frazzled mother of four Ashley Gates lets her best friend drag her to a meeting of the local scrapbooking club, she’s amazed at the way old photos and mementoes can bring vivid color to sepia-toned memories. Among the surprisingly diverse group is Tara, a single grad student whose search for love, like her relationship with her absentee father, has only brought her heartache – and some funny dating stories. Then there’s Libby, a semi-retired teacher who thought she’d spend her golden years taking cooking and photography classes – not as the town pariah after her son is charged in a corporate scandal. And as Ashley copes with a husband whose love for her fluctutates with her weight, she comes to depend more and more on her scrapbooking sisters. Only together can they face earth-shattering revelations and emotionally unavailable men – and figure out their futures, while artfully commemorating their pasts.

Kathleen Reid, author of A Page Out of LifeWhether you’re a ‘cropper’ (scrapbooker) or not, you’ll find friends among these women and the wonderful way that they share their lives through scrapbooking and sharing.

Join us as we talk with Kathleen Reid on this wonderful podcast just for women! Thanks Kathleen for chatting with us!

AND, if you’d like to win a copy of Kathleen Reid’s “A Page Out of Life” leave a comment about scrapbooking, your girlfriend-sisters or why you’d like to have a copy of this great women’s fiction.

I’m a frustrated scrapbooker, probably because I have perfectionist tendencies. But while I was active, I loved the camaraderie of going to crops, the creative outlet, and of course, shopping for fabulous supplies!

A copy of this book would be a great way to dip my toes back in…maybe I’ll be inspired.

My closest group of friends is my scrapbooking buddies. We used to get together every week, and it was the most therapeutic thing ever! Miss those days.

What a nice idea, I love to scrapbook but rarely find the time to do it myself let alone with other women. For now, I’ve been blogging when I can instead. A copy of the book would be a really nice extra push to MAKE the time to do something I love so much!

Hi Girlfriends! We’ve got two of Kathleen’s new books so we’ll leave this drawing open until Sunday night. Leave a comment and you’re in the drawing!

Also, don’t forget to send in your girlfriend stories for the Oct. monthly Girlfriendology Contest. For example, you could send us stories about you and your scrapbooking girlfriends!

It’s amazing how doing something creative can free you to share and connect with people. I’ve had some of my best conversations while crafting and scrapbooking with my friends and family. It’s like play-therapy for grownups.

I haven’t found the patience or creativity to scrapbook yet, but maybe this book would help!

I LOVE…LOVE..LOVE BOOKS! This looks like the type of book this cool and hip mamma needs on her bookshelf. That is AFTER I read it!!
BEING CREATIVE…IS MY WHOLE REASON FOR LIVING! I love to create/share/get together with friends to create. It is more than getting together…you share your day/events/what is going on. Better than sex? Heck no! But a darn close second!

I found digital scrapbooking fairly recently, and I totally love it. It’s much more convenient for me. I recommend digital!
