Book Club, Contests and Prizes – oh my!

Girlfriendology hatBook Club, Contests and Prizes – Just for Women!

Girl’s just wanna have fun, right? Well, Book Clubs are fun – especially when you read a great book and talk about it with fabulous female friends! Contests are fun – with prizes like great Book Club books and cool (not available yet for anyone else!) Girlfriendology caps (perfect for summer girlfriend gifts!). And we all like prizes, especially when it’s so easy to participate.

We already announced our contest for April – just post a photo of you and your girlfriend(s) on our Flickr or Facebook pages and you’ll be in the running for the BRAND NEW Girlfriendology embroidered hat (low profile, not like those BIG ‘trucker’ caps!). That’s it, just post a picture. And, we’d love for it to celebrate spring with a flower in the photo but it doesn’t have to. Just show off how beautiful you and your girlfriends are!wildwater walking club, by claire cook

  • 1 point for leaving a comment below.

  • 3 points for leaving a comment below, tweeting and adding your girlfriend photo to our Flickr or Facebook pages.

Thanks, Madelyn. Hope you win. And not having Twitter might be a good thing. It eats up so much time!!

    Thank YOU, Jo Ann!

Thanks, Hollee! And thanks for being excited about Wildwater!

    Thanks, MaryAnn!

Thank you, Sarah! Hope you win!

Thanks, Anna! I hope you do!

I can not believe Claire Cook’s energy! She turns out books (and good ones) faster than anybody! Good for you Claire….and she is as nice in person as you can imagine.

  5. Elaine Coleman says

As an avid walker (former marathon runner), I can hardly wait to read Wildwater Walking Club. I founded a walking (formerly running) club in Santa Fe, NM, and we’ve been walking together monthly (a Saturday morning), followed by a gourmet potluck brunch, for nearly 30 years!

    I hope you do, Angelica!

    Thanks, Angela — you, too!

Thanks, Christy! I’ll look for you on Twitter! I’m @ClaireCookbooks on Twitter and http://facebook.com/ClaireCookbooks on Facebook!

What a great post, Elaine! I love that your group has been together for almost 30 years. That’s amazing! I can’t wait to chat with you on May 31. I hope the rest of your group will come say hi, too!

Thanks for your kind words, Renee! Since I didn’t write my first book until I was 45, I guess I just have a little bit of catching up to do! I’m also so lucky that I get to write full time — so few authors have that luxury.

    Claire,
As you know I just finished TWWC and loved it to pieces ~ your humor, sassy wit, and insight into the midlife feminine mystique are a winning combination.

I’ve just started on Life’s a Beach. Write on!

  9. Marla says

I read this book when it first came out and it was amazing. So inspirational, and really got me walking alot last year. I would love to have a copy of this book for my home library and allow my friends to read this. Claire Cook is a great author!

  10. Leslie says

Thank you Clair Cook for inspiring me to get moving physically and mentally everyday and not just pass slowly thru this life. My sneakers are laced and I am ready to go to whatever this life has to offer even at my young age of 56!!

  11. Sheila Chamberlin says

Always looking for a good book to read and share with my girlfriends! This sounds great! My girl friends mean the world to me… I am adding your link on facebook too. Thanks! :-)

  12. says

I agree, Paula! Book clubs are great!

    I hope you do, Lori!

Thanks, Amy! The beach is the perfect place to read Wildwater — or any of my novels!

Marla – You are the best! Thank you for your support! And I’m so thrilled Wildwater got you out walking!

What a wonderful thing to say, Leslie! And I love your attitude!!

Thanks, Sheila! I’ve heard from so many women that this book made them want to call their girlfriends, so I hope you and yours will agree!!

  13. says

I have made several attempts in the past to join a book club but never did. I use to be such an avid reader but life and my kids have been keeping me too busy to read on my own much less with a book club……It’s time now!

  14. Karen Brady says

What a great motivational book! I have had my sneakers on and been walking the dogs every day for over a week now. I can actually say I am enjoying it. Whoohoo!! Thanks for your great books!

  15. says

Thanks, Barb! I look forward to chatting with you on May 31!

Thanks for your kind words, Beth. And, yes, book clubs rock!

Good for you for making some time for yourself, Kathy! And the nice thing about this book club is that there’s no commute!!

Thanks, Karen! One of the best things about this novel is that I’ve heard from so many women saying that it’s inspired them to lace up their sneakers and hit the road!!
