Dear Girlfriend,
Last week marked the 22nd year of sold out concerts for Jimmy Buffet in Cincinnati. For some reason, there is a HUGE population of ‘parrotheads’ in our city and we go a little crazy for this sensitive ‘beach bum’ who wrote these wise words:
“These changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes
Nothing remains quite the same
Through all of the islands and all of the highlands
If we couldn’t laugh we would all go insane”
What does the wisdom of Jimmy Buffet have to do with girlfriends?
Think about it, we all go through changes in latitudes and attitudes. We move, grow, try new places, and meet new people who make an impact on our lives. We get married, have kids, start a job, end a relationship, start another new job or relationship. It seems like we’re constantly in a state of change. And, if not for our friendships and the ability to laugh together, we would all go insane.
Are you going through changes in your life? New job or hairstyle? People coming and going in your life? Dealing with others’ changes too – like kids, parents, friends with ‘changes in attitudes?’
Stick close to your friends. Be there for them and they’ll be there for you – through all the changes.
Thanks Jimmy for this girlfriend insight on change and staying sane with our friends. And thanks girlfriends for being there for your friends through all the changes in life. Life really is better together – with your girlfriends!

“You always make me feel Happy”
As friends, we have the wonderful opportunity to make some one’s day – everyday. We can choose to cheer them up, to support them and to brighten their day (especially on those days when they really need that!). We can impact their attitude, belief in themselves and even their health – just by being their friend.
Make a friend happy, or get yourself a reminder to be that kind of friend, with these great girlfriend gifts:
And, save time and money by designing, customizing and sending fabulous greeting cards for your girlfriends, family, clients, coworkers or whomever at Send Out Cards – and never leave your laptop!

“My best friend is the one who brings out the best in me”
Henry Ford
You know how you see all the great qualities in your girlfriend? You know what she’s good at – even more than she does. You see the beauty in her, when she can only see the imperfections.
As a friend, we have the opportunity and responsibility to be there for our friends – just like how we love when they’re there for us. We get to be the one who brings out the best in them – even when they feel like their best isn’t good enough. We get to cheer them on to reach for their dreams, achieve their goals and be the best person they can be.
Girlfriend, make a special effort this week to remind a friend of all the amazing qualities she possesses. Be the friend who brings out the best in her. It actually will make both of you feel fabulous and thankful for each other. Try it, then share your story on Girlfriendology and inspire others!
THANKS Girlfriend! Have a fun, friend-filled week!!
