… from a girlfriend who wants the best for you.
As a busy entrepreneur, I admit, I don’t live a balanced life. I work too much and sleep too little, forego exercise for more time in front of a laptop (who manages my time more than I manage it) and, even though I totally believe what I preach (the importance, benefits and blessings of female friendship), I make little time to practice it.
You know the saying: anything worth doing, is worth doing well. Well, friendship is most certainly something worth doing – and worth doing well. Studies confirm that female friendship makes women healthier, happier, less stressed, live longer and feel more beautiful. Did you really catch that?

Feel more beautiful
No ‘magic pill’ offers all those vital benefits. No quick fix can even guarantee one or two of those life altering result. And, even all the money that Oprah has, can’t buy those. (Luckily she has Gayle, her BFF!)
In a world of crazy expectations of our time and talents, in a life out of balance and where schedules rule our time, we just have to stop and spend time with other women in a relaxed atmosphere where we can share our lives to remove stress, return to our true self and reclaim our lives.
Actually, some research has made the comparison that not having a strong base of female friends has comparable health implications as being a smoker or overweight. Our emotional bond with friends is that impactful on our physical body.
So, here’s the friendly advice: YOU actually NEED friends. And, even in a life out of balance or with major responsibilities (children, jobs, being an entrepreneur), if you’re not making time for your female friendships, you’re putting yourself and your health at risk.
If you’re starting to feel a little guilty or concerned that this might apply to you, then you need to take this friendly advice. You need to reach out to others, make and spend time with girlfriends. You may have to start from scratch and start looking around for females with whom you have something in common. You might want to join some groups, volunteer, make conversation with your neighbors, invite a coworker to lunch or invite a nearby mom to go for a walk with you.
It’s that important. Really. (See the book “The Tending Instinct” or read this Wikipedia entry on ‘tend and befriend‘ for tons of information on the benefits of female friendship.)
Get some balance in your life. Live a healthier, happier, less stressed, long and beautiful life – with your girlfriends!
