Thanksgiving - what’s your holiday tradition?
One of our core beliefs at Girlfriendology is ‘appreciation.’ This act of gratitude is recognition with joy. Humble thankfulness. Undeserved blessings. Appreciation at it’s deepest level.
Those describe female friendship - if, and when, we stop to be thankful. So, stop. Pay attention to the women in your life who bless you with their friendship, who are there for you no matter what, who take care of you and teach you life lessons that enrich the person you’ll become.
Be thankful girlfriends. And share your girlfriend gratitude!

 Dear Girlfriend,
What’s your Thanksgiving tradition? Dine with friends or family? Do you make pies or reservations? Start shopping at midnight or go to bed early to hit all the early ‘black Friday’ sales? Each one of us have our own way to celebrate the holiday.
Does your tradition of thankfulness incorporate some girlfriend gratitude? Try these ways to add a ’serving’ of appreciation for your favorite female friends to your Thanksgiving:
* Call up a childhood friend and wish her a happy holiday.
* Invite a new neighbor over to join your family or at least meet for a glass of wine later this weekend.
* Write a card to a distant friend to tell her how much you appreciate her friendship.
* Add your girlfriends to your list of things for which you’re thankful.
Girlfriends are the sisters we never had. They’re the family whom we choose. Show your appreciation, love and gratitude this Thanksgiving. Start a tradition of girlfriend gratitude. That’s the true spirit of being thankful. That’s what it’s all about. Give thanks for girlfriends.

Watch out - Women join forces!
Do you have a girlfriend group? Book Club? Women you workout with? Friends you meet for Happy Hour? Amazing things can happen when women get together. Two ideas for inspiration:
 * Cincinnati Women Bloggers - We started a monthly meet-up this summer and now we have great girlfriends all over town. If you’re in Cincy, please join us on Dec. 15th for our “Holiday Social” to raise money for a local charity.
* Have a local ‘tweet-up.’ Girlfriend ‘Kate-the-great’ invited local Twitter friends to get together at a bar recently. It was great fun to meet everyone. Why not try that in your town?!

Recording your girlfriend gratitude is very similar. By writing your thankfulness for female friendship, you begin recognizing all the wonderful women who bless your life. And, you start noticing the kindness of friends and being conscious of how you treat others.
Just in time for Thanksgiving and the holidays, Girlfriendology announces our own Girlfriend Gratitude Journal and gratitude gifts. Record all the times you’re thankful for friendship. Note the little (and big) things your girlfriends do for you. Write down how thankful you are for friendship. It’s a great way to keep the ‘attitude of gratitude‘ going all year!

It’s great to feel grateful. It reminds us of all our blessings and the wonderful people in our lives. It feels even better to express our gratitude and to humble ourselves with thankfulness for our friends.
Let’s live with an attitude of gratitude. Call a friend. Drive a girlfriend to the doctor or take soup over to her when she or her child is sick. Listen - REALLY listen, when she just needs to talk. Give her grace. Show her how much her friendship means to you.
Today, take a few minutes out to record your thoughts of gratitude. Are there friendships you cherish and memories you’ll always remember? Write them down. Stop by Girlfriendology and share what you’re thankful for. Spend time thinking about the wonderful women who bless your life. Celebrate your friends with some great girlfriend gratitude. It will make it make it a memorable and thankful Thanksgiving.
