Do you have a girlfriend who always gives the best gifts? She seems to know, even more than you know yourself, what you’d like but woundn’t buy yourself? Her thoughtful gifts don’t have to be the most expensive, but you anticipate them every birthday and holiday, because she knows you so well and, you know so well, that you’ll love the gift she gives you!
As a girlfriend, we get insight into our friend’s life more than others. Through true conversations and sharing of our dreams, we know each other on a level that others don’t know us. That’s one of the many blessings of female friendship. And, that gift of friendship, is what allows us to be free to be our selves and to celebrate life together.
Birthdays, the upcoming holidays, celebrations around our lives are all opportunities to make our best friends feel special like their friendship is to us - and gifts are a wonderful way of expressing our girlfriend gratitude and love.
So, before we start the holiday shopping or start the barrage of retail advertising, let’s share our favorite gifts for girlfriends and help each other be the type of friend we described above - the one with the best presents and most thoughtful gifts.

What is your favorite gift to give or receive from a girlfriend? What gift has a girlfriend given you that was extra special to you (or that you gave to your best friend)?
I’ll get us started. My friend Terri always gives me great gifts. She knows my favorite gift shop and I’m sure she must look for things throughout the year as gifts. They don’t have to be expensive but they do have to be personal. Needless to say, Terri doesn’t buy gifts in bulk. She doesn’t give me the same gift she also gave her mother, sister and other girlfriends. And she picks up on little things in my life that I enjoy or am passionate about. When I did a marathon, she ordered a special t-shirt for me. She knew I’d love “Eat Pray Love,” so she bought it for me. I love opening gifts from Terri - she’s a great girlfriend gift giver!

p.s. For my birthday this year (Nov. 5th), I just want the political race to be over (and sure, I’d love for my candidate of choice to be the winner) but will just be happy for life to hopefully get back to more positive things and less negative campaigning. World peace would be a nice present too. Just in case you’re shopping for me. (-;
