When was the last time you said “I’m sorry” - and really, REALLY meant it? And, do you remember the last time someone said it to you?
Regret and forgiveness may not be trendy, as we float through life as the ‘center of the universe,’ but shouldn’t they be? Aren’t they at the core of friendship, respect and kindness?
Project Forgiveness is an online venue to post expressions of regret and expressions of forgiveness in the hope that these actions will translate into actual forgiveness between individuals. It’s a great movement to recognize our regrets and ask for forgiveness, and has inspired men, women, teens and kids in posting things for which they’re sorry. Join us in this Girlfriendology podcast as we talk with Ilya Welfeld, of the National Jewish Outreach Program (NJOP) and Project Forgiveness, as she helps us understand the importance of forgiveness.
Ilya, thanks so much for sharing the Project Forgiveness story with us today. From simple messages from kids to profound confessions from adults, it’s an amazing reminder of the strength of regrets and the amazing power of forgiveness. That’s a great topic for girlfriends - on identifying our regrets and feeling forgiveness. Thanks for reminding us of this powerful lesson.
